Greg Ellifritz “Active Response Training”


Greg Ellifritz is a 19-year veteran police officer, spending 13 years as the full time tactical training officer for his central Ohio agency. In that position, he was responsible for developing and instructing all of the in-service training for a 54-officer police department. He has also worked as a patrol officer, bike patrol officer, bike patrol coordinator, field training officer, and precision marksman for his agency.

Tom Givens “Rangemaster” — Shotgun and Combative Pistol Courses


After completing a 25-year career in law enforcement and specialized security work, Tom opened his own pistol range in Memphis, TN in 1996. For 18 years, it was the primary source of handgun carry permit certification for the greater Memphis area.

Soon joined by his wife Lynn, the training duo formed Rangemaster Firearms Training Services to share their expertise with a much broader audience. They now travel across the country and around the world to arm responsible citizens with the skills and knowledge they need to effectively protect themselves and their families.

William T. Aprill


William Aprill is a licensed mental health professional with over 15 years experience across the continuum of care. He presently maintains a private practice and consultancy specializing in post-traumatic interventions and other disciplines.

William is a former deputy sheriff (Orleans Parish, LA, Criminal Sheriff’s Office) and Special Deputy US Marshal (Eastern District of Louisiana). He is a decorated competitive shooter and has taught civilian, law enforcement, and military personnel in various fighting skills since 1990. He maintains an active schedule both as student and teacher, having been instructor-rated by several top-tier trainers and studying under many of the most influential members of the combative arts community.

William has been a regular guest in firearms/training industry media, including popular appearances on Ballistic Radio and Personal Defense Talk, has been referenced in publications including The Tactical Wire and The Journal of the Armed Citizen’s Legal Defense Network, and is the subject of two Personal Defense Network DVDs of his original training material on defensive decision-making and mindset development.

Massad Ayoob


Massad Ayoob has been handgun editor of GUNS magazine and law enforcement editor of AMERICAN HANDGUNNER since the 1970s, and has published thousands of articles in gun magazines, martial arts publications, and law enforcement journals. He is the author of more than a dozen books on firearms, self-defense, and related topics, including “In the Gravest Extreme,” widely considered to be the authoritative text on the topic of the use of lethal force.

The winner of the Outstanding American Handgunner of the Year Award in 1998, Mas has won several state and regional handgun shooting championships. Ayoob is one of approximately ten Five Gun Masters among the 10,000-member International Defensive Pistol Association, and was the first to earn that title. He served 19 years as chair of the Firearms Committee of the American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers, and several years as a member of the Advisory Board of the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association. In addition to teaching for those groups, he has also taught for the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors and the International Homicide Investigators seminars.

Mas has received judicial recognition as an expert witness for the courts in weapons and shooting cases since 1979, and has been a fully sworn and empowered, part time police officer for 36 years. Ayoob founded the Lethal Force Institute in 1981 and served as its director until 2009, and now trains through Massad Ayoob Group. He has appeared on CLE-TV delivering continuing legal education for attorneys, through the American Law Institute and American Bar Association, and has been retained to train attorneys to handle deadly force cases through the Armed Citizens Legal Defense Network. Ayoob served for two years as co-vice chair of the Forensic Evidence Committee of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He also appears in each episode of Personal Defense TV (Sportsman’s Channel).

Spencer Keepers, Nationally recognized firearms instructor, Owner of Keepers Concealment Spencer Keepers has been a Presenter at the Rangemaster Tactical Conference 2012-16, a Presenter at the Paul Gomez Memorial Training Conference 2012 & 2015, He is one of only 11 Handgun Masters though Rangemaster and an Expert on the FAST test. Mr. Keepers is a graduate of some of the world’s best handgun, carbine, shotgun, force-on-force and hand-to-hand classes. He has well over 1,000 hours of professional firearms training from the world’s best civilian, law enforcement, military and competition shooters and instructors. Karl Rehn-KR Training


Karl Rehn is lead instructor/owner of KR Training, the largest, oldest firearms training school in Central Texas.  A graduate of over 2200 hours of training from more than 50 different instructors from competition, military, law enforcement and private sector tactical schools, Karl is a 4-division USPSA Grand Master certified as an NRA Training Counselor, Rangemaster Advanced Instructor, Texas License to Carry and School Safety instructor, with many other credentials.  He's written articles for multiple magazines including SWAT and Concealed Carry, had his training featured on the Shooting Gallery TV show, and has been interviewed on podcasts such as Ballistic Radio, ProArms and Polite Society.  In addition to being a firearms trainer and range owner, Karl recently retired after 32 years of work as a researcher and trainer employed by the University of Texas and Texas A&M University, primarily funded by DOD and DHS to develop new technology, analyze and develop policy and train others in physical and facility security.  He offers training every week at his home facility in Texas and at host sites all over the US.
